Health and Hair Loss, Does It Really Matter?

There seems to be an endless stream of sources in our society that place a heavy emphasis on health, whether presenting a new, revolutionary diet, introducing a high-calorie burning workout or suggesting another approach to medical treatment—the options are endless. But does it really all matter? And who can we actually trust for our medical advice or any advice for that matter? HPIHair Partners knows the answer is YES, of course health is important and so is your hair since how you look effects how you feel!

Nearly 33% of the United States is considered obese. That’s a number that has been shockingly high for a number of years, yet there doesn’t seem to be a decrease. Obesity isn’t the only prevalent disease within our culture; heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes and arthritis are also on the rise. What each of these has in common is the fact that they could all be easily avoided with the taking of preventative measures. Studies show that these, along with several other chronic illnesses that lead to the decrease in quality of life, can be connected to factors such as obesity, lack of physical activity, poor nutrition, and tobacco/alcohol use.  Each of these issues can easily be adjusted by an individual with a choice of whether or not to engage in the activity. We each have the opportunity, regardless of our background or genetic makeup, to pave the way for ourselves to a long, healthy life.

HPIHair Partners, female doctor, hair loss, nashvilleMaking lifestyle changes likely won’t happen over night, no matter how great your intentions are. What’s important to remember is that everything’s a process, and it’ll take some time to see results. There are a number of blogs, TV shows, magazines and self-help books out there, so many that it can be incredibly overwhelming, almost putting an automatic halt to many folks’ journey towards health from the very beginning.  Our advice would be to first seek the wisdom of your family doctor or Endocrinologist or seek advice from HPIHair Partners regarding your options and solutions —they’ll not only have access to knowledge of your medical history, but also know which test to run to get to the “root” (there are more roots than one).

Christian writer, Joyce Meyer once said, “I believe that the greatest gift you can give your family and the world is a healthy you.” Those around you deserve to have you around for as long as possible and vice versa.
